Cheap Van Insurance

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

Cheap van insurance is definitely not a term I’ve been familiar with over the years. Expensive van insurance yes, cheap car insurance no. My husband and I have four dogs and can’t just make do with a car when we’re going on our hols or even to the vets. No commercial use at all but I feel like we’ve been treated that way. Seems like we’ve had to pay the white van man’s share of the premium too.

When we got our renewal notice through my husband just chucked it on the side to let it roll over. I’m so glad I looked because it’d gone up a lot without any good reason as far as I could see. We had an accident but it wasn’t our fault and the van got repaired on the other guy’s insurance. Still, no way was I going to pay the extra for that. I’d heard of comparison sites so I headed to one of the most well known ones to look for cheap van insurance that allowed for non-commercial use and charged us a fair price.

I found at least 50 quotes from insurance providers that offered cheap van insurance at reasonable premiums with no strings attached and could save £200 plus. I saved £194 in the end because I didn’t go for the cheapest one. It was missing a few features like courtesy car cover, but the one we chose was really good and will definitely be just the job for us. Cheap van insurance and peace of mind – not bad for 5 minutes on the computer!

Life Insurance with Critical Illness

Sunday, June 28th, 2009

Life insurance is a key form of insurance that most homeowners with an outstanding mortgage will have. Many mortgage providers today insist upon some form of life insurance for those people looking to take out a mortgage for a significant amount of cash to repay over a number of years. After all, they need to safeguard their investment, which may not be returned should you die before the term of your mortgage ended. However, you can also choose to take out insurance with additional features to protect you as well as the bank. Take life insurance with critical illness cover for example.

Life insurance with critical illness cover not only covers you in the event of your death but also covers you should you be diagnosed with a serious illness as well. The policy with this combination is designed to allow you to pay off your mortgage should you be unable to work because you have cancer or a similar illness that is not only life threatening but will prevent you being able to make mortgage payments in the meantime. The sum assured under such a policy is payable on the diagnosis of one of a number of illnesses as well as death. You do have to check the small print to check whether there are exclusions and what illnesses are covered so make sure that you do so before you actually take out a life insurance with critical illness policy.

If you choose to have life insurance with critical illness cover then you will more than likely have to pay extra for the latter but it is worth it. After all, serious illnesses do not always result in death but they do prevent you from working so why allow them to take your home instead?

MultiCar Insurance

Friday, June 26th, 2009

Every time I arrive home from work of an evening, it seems that more and more cars line the street. I have to weave in and out of them to get to my driveway, and even then I have to fight for a space if my wife and daughter are home. Thank goodness my son can’t drive yet otherwise I would really have a fight on my hands. You can imagine what my insurance bill looked like every year. We each have our own policies but I end up with the bill. I must have “mug” printed on my forehead, or at least I did until I saw an advert for multicar insurance on TV.

I have come to the conclusion that multicar insurance is absolutely fantastic over the past couple of days. I thought I’d look into the possibility of getting multicar insurance because it sounded like a cost effective alternative to the way that we have been doing it for years. I was a little unsure as to whether I could get it or not though because the cars were in different names. I need not have worried about that though because the cars belong to members of the same household. I actually saved a lot of money, far more than I thought I would.

The multicar insurance I chose was recommended by one of those specialist search engines. I got a range of quotes returned but the one I chose was from a trusted provider and saved hundreds of pounds for me. If I’d have carried on paying them separately then it would have cost me a fortune but the price I pay now is just fine!

Cheap Van Insurance

Thursday, June 25th, 2009

If you’d asked me a week ago I’d have told you that all insurance companies were rip off merchants. I paid a fortune for insuring my van and nearly had a heart attack when the renewal notice landed on my doormat last week. It’d gone up by £131 for every one of my 4 vans. If I’d put in a claim or clocked up some points I’d have taken it on the chin. But I hadn’t! They thought I’d just renew but no way! I went out and got me some cheap van insurance that saved me over £500.

You’d think that I’d given up some of the best bits of my policies wouldn’t you for that much left in my pocket? I didn’t though. That was the best bit. The policy I chose had all of the features that my old one did without the hassle. Cheap van insurance doesn’t mean that its rubbish at all and I definitely made the right decision by checking out my options.

I cheated though. Instead of going round all the different companies I used a comparison site because it only took me a few minutes and business is good so we’re busy. Gotta take on as much work as possible at the minute because you never know when it’s going to dry up. Saving money is still important though, more important right now than it’s been in the past so I was glad to have the option of cheap van insurance. Every van owner should, especially everyone that has a small fleet like me. Have more than one van and you’ll get stung, but not if you take out a new policy so go for it and take all your no claims with you!

Life Insurance Decreasing Cover

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009

If you have begun to look around for some form of life insurance then you may have heard the term “life insurance decreasing cover”. Completely the opposite of level cover, this is one of the most popular forms of life insurance out there. Unlike level term insurance, which offers a fixed sum upon the death of the insured party should they pass away whilst the cover is still in place, life insurance decreasing cover reduces in value over the years alongside the value of your mortgage debt.

In truth, life insurance decreasing cover has been the life insurance policy of choice for those individuals that have been looking to cover their mortgage and have it paid off should they die before the term of their debt was up. As such, the value of the insurance policy decreases over the years. There is no fixed sum to tap into but rather a single sum to pay off the mortgage.

Any life insurance decreasing cover policy will be the same length as your mortgage but varies from policy to policy. It may be that you choose cover with your mortgage provider and pay it as a part of your mortgage repayment but taking a look around the market for other providers may prove fruitful because you will find that life insurance decreasing cover policies are often the cheapest on the market. It can be far more cost effective to actually seek out a policy from a reputable provider on your own. For a few moments of your time, you can check online which provider you should trust with your mortgage protection!

Cheap Van Insurance

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

As a small business owner, I’ve been looking to cut costs for some time now so that I and my employees can make it through the recession in one piece. Like many other business owners, I do not want to let my staff go and be responsible for their unemployment. I’ve found many ways to cut costs and survive so far in a number of areas, one of which was obtaining cheap van insurance. I was quite shocked when I found out just how much I could save.

My business depends on a variety of people being able to drive any of my vans and this has cost me a lot of money in the past. The insurance firm that I was with previously, and for a number of years, did not offer cheap van insurance or even discounts for no claims, multiple vans or repeat business. I thought that this was the norm but have found out that I did not have to pay nearly as much as I have done in the past.

Despite having several drivers per van, I was able to find a cheap van insurance deal quickly and easily via a price comparison site. All I had to do was provide the details pertaining to my business and the people that would be using the van – once. I was not required to input the details again and found a range of good prices and comprehensive policies. Choosing between them was not easy and took longer than actually obtaining the quotes in the first place! I will definitely be doing the same thing again when my current cheap van insurance policy comes up for renewal.

Life Insurance

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

Of all the forms of insurance that are currently available, one is vastly underestimated by a high percentage of people. That is to say, it is underestimated by more people than any other form of insurance. Life insurance is one of those types of policy that is largely seen as an optional policy rather than one that can really help individuals out of a real tight spot should the worst happen. In fact, there are several uses for life insurance upon the death of the policyholder that should never be underestimated.

Firstly, if one member of a household should die and leave the mortgage outstanding then the other member would be forced to take on the mortgage and continue repayments or sell it. However, he or she may not be able to afford to pay the mortgage on his or her own. This can often make an already bad situation worse when the family is forced to move out. Life insurance can be taken out to pay the mortgage off in these circumstances and is actually often insisted upon by mortgage providers these days. This is the most common use of this form of insurance and the most useful in many ways but it is far from the only use.

Another common reason for taking out life insurance is leaving some money behind for your family to enjoy. This could be so that they can fulfil specific wishes or so that your children can continue their expensive education. It may even be just enough to cover funeral expenses or something similar. As you can see, it is easy to tailor an insurance policy to suit your own wishes. As such, you can undoubtedly see just how much a life insurance policy could mean to your nearest and dearest so consider the possibility carefully.
